We cannot recount the story of Parfums d’Orsay without mentioning the famous chevalier d’Orsay, who charmed Gustave Doré, Berlioz, Alfed de Vigny and Lamartine, and in 1830 created the first of his fragrances out of love. Alfred, Count d’Orsay was one of the most celebrated Dandies of his day. He died at the height of his fame in 1852 when he was only 51. Eternally a Dandy of the highest order in the history books of France.
After his death, his family decided to set up the Company Française des Parfums d’Orsay and create the legendary fragrances presented in bottles each more extravagant than the last, made of crystal from Lalique, Baccarat, etc. Over 5 million bottles were sold in 1931! Today’s men and women are searching for elegant originality, and our d’Orsay perfumes, with their gentle extravagance, will be more than able to accompany this exciting quest with panache.
