Bertrand began his perfumer career in Grasse in 1985. He learned from the senior Master Perfumers at Florasynth and Symrise and shaped during all these years his own approach to Perfumery. He became independent in 2007 and collaborates since then with L’Artisan Par¬fumeur as an inhouse parfumeur as well as many other “niche” players. Art lover and spe¬cifically native art collector, Bertrand is a world traveler always in search of new inspiration.
“I had acquired a very specific approach to perfumery, which is that of all the perfumers in the big labs. By becoming independent, by working in my own lab, directly on my for¬mulas, by weighing them, I’ve developed a different approach to perfumery, another way of building my perfumes. My control over raw materials is getting better and better”. Bertrand Duchaufour.
Some of Bertrand Duchaufour’s creations include Comme des Garcons’ Kyoto, Avignon and Sequoia, L’Artisan Parfumeur’s Timbuktu, Dzongkha, Penhaligon’s Sartorial and Ama¬ranthine, Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta among many others.More from: Bertrand Duchaufour
