First of all, let me explain that I spent a huge part of my life believing I hated patchouli, thinking all the patchouli based fragrances smelled like headshops. A couple of months ago, I discovered my first "non-hippie" patchouli and a friend suggested me Montale Patchouli for the same vibe. So here I am now, reviewing one of the only 2 patchoulis I dare to wear: Montale's.
This is a dirty patchouli (not unwashed dirty, just earthy), with a beautiful bourbon vanilla to round up the camphoraceus aspect of the patch. It's quite linear, I don't notice scent changes between the first minutes of the application and the drydown (which is HUGE, talking about 12+ hours here). As many other Montale fragrances, this one is a powerhouse, just a minimum spritz is required to make you smell wonderful and it has lots of silage, so be careful. Talking about being careful, due to the color of the juice, it works better if not spayed near clothes.
