Micallef - Ylang in Gold

Micallef’s Ylang in Gold is both an olfactory and visual masterpiece. Bejeweled with Swarovski crystals delicately set by hand, this precious flacon which is part of the Jewel Collection contains a sensual and gold shimmering nectar.

The precious nectar contains 24k gold dust and pearlescent particles that delicately shimmer when you shake the flacon and hold it up to the light.

Ylang in Gold is not a traditional ylang-ylang composition but offers a balanced floral bouquet warmed by sunny notes reminiscent of South Sea Islands: ylang-ylang, sandalwood, coconut and vanilla.

On the Côte d'Azur, one of the most beautiful and at the same time most extravagant regions of France, the small perfume house of Micallef is located, which was founded in 1996 by Martine Micallef and her husband Geoffrey Newman.

While her husband Geoffrey Newman first worked as a financial consultant for a large company that traded with aromas and ingredients and in this extraordinary way discovered his love for fragrances, Martine Micallef had since time immemorial devoted her life to the aesthetic: for 18 years she ran a beauty institute in Cannes and incidentally discovered her talent as an artist, created drawings and paintings that were well received in the artists scene.

Not long after the two discovered their love for each other, they turned to the production of exclusive perfumes and handmade perfume bottles. Today Geoffrey and Martine Micallef live and work together near Cannes and through their company share and realize their dream of creating small (perfume) works of art. The pair find inspiration for their fragrances while travelling and have spent much time in the Middle East. Many of their customers are located around the Arabian Peninsula for whom upon request Martine likes to create individual flacons or personal fragrances.

The Micallef fragrances largely dispense with synthetic substances and moreover, the fragrances are still filled by hand and the flacons decorated by hand.
