Intenso di Nero marks another chapter in the collaboration between Carthusia and Meo Fusciuni, who – following on from Intenso di Sandalo – are once again exploring the concept of intensity through a new olfactory vision that is deeper, more enigmatic and more contemporary. With Intenso di Nero, the collection expands its creative universe and continues its journey of discovery through raw materials, contrasts and nuances that leave an unmistakable imprint on the skin.
Intenso di Nero is a journey into the most elegant darkness, where mystery becomes matter and matter transforms into emotion. The darkest side of light, where dark fruits meet leather and precious woods.
A surprising opening, where the vibrancy of the fruits blends with the depth of saffron and cocoa, creating an intense, lively and enveloping contrast. At the heart, the delicacy of the flowers meets the sensuality of leather and the softness of amber. A refined balance between light and shadow, where sweetness gives way to deep and mysterious nuances. On the finish, vanilla meets the depth of oud and woods, enveloped in warm, balsamic nuances. A rich, sensual and long-lasting scent trail.
“As a contemplative and introspective perfumer, I wanted to tell the story of this colour. Once again, Carthusia has given me complete creative freedom, and I sought, in art, the expression that would imprint itself on the formula. I found it here: ‘Veiled Christ’, the marble masterpiece by Giuseppe Sanmartino; Burris’s material art, hovering between existence and meditation on pure form; and the sounds of Dark Wood by David Darling. I wanted to take Carthusia to the most remote rock on the island, the one that is hardest to reach.” – Meo Fusciuni
