Francesca Bianchi about Insomnia
An accord of narcotic flowers, dominated by ylang and jasmine, restores the sense of the beauty of night life, especially in its most intellectual and febrile dimension.
A sharp, mineral facet is layered over their opulence, designed to evoke that specific sensation of tired eyes when the body demands sleep, but the mind still refuses to surrender. The brightness of the flowers is then dramatically darkened by an accord of deep woods, creating a sharp contrast between light and shadow, giving the composition a darker, nocturnal, and introspective dimension.
The animalic character, a recurring element in my creations, emerges through indole, used in a subtle dose. It does not wish to dominate the accord, but rather to give it a carnal, almost physical quality, capable of making the flowers more alive, more ambiguous and sensual, adding a deeply intoxicating and seductive character to their beauty.
For me, the night represents suspended time, radical freedom that dissolves the burden of routine and daily urgencies. In this space free from the pressures of the day, I find a moment of grace and redemption: while the world sleeps, I am connected with myself, as if in a parallel universe.
I experience this wakefulness as a narcotic excitement that feeds my creativity, allowing me to dedicate myself to my projects. It is also a precious space for conversations with friends, unique moments in which tiredness is set aside by the excitement of sharing thoughts and the euphoria of being together without time constraints.
I brought this fragrance to life by drawing on my personal experience as a "night owl", when I was looking for extra time to develop creativity beyond my day job, especially when I launched the brand.
My goal was to capture that dark-glam ecstasy, that mix of tiredness and radiant energy, translating it into a carnal and intoxicating olfactory creation that celebrates the intellectual beauty of nightlife.
