In the land of Egypt, storytellers often wait for nightfall to pass on, in cavernous voices, the epic tale of the god Ra.
In the beginning, there was only a dark ocean and a mound. Nun and Benben. At the summit of this mound, Ra was born, without mother or father. Ra became the sun and thus reigned over every source of life, and soon over humanity. He was the all-seeing eye. Through his transformation into a celestial body, Ra created the cycle of evolution — a perpetual movement between shadow and light.
At dawn, he rose in the form of a young scarab with iridescent armor, Khepri. At the zenith of his omnipotence, he became Ra once more. And at dusk, he was Atum, an aging sun. Yet Ra never vanished. He sailed through the underworld, the Duat, confronting monsters and spirits. His greatest enemy was Apophis, the giant serpent, embodiment of absolute chaos. Each night, Apophis fought to devour Ra, hoping darkness would become eternal and chaos would spread across the earth. Ra emerged victorious from every battle. A sign of renewal, rebirth, and the continuity of life. In his majesty, the sun illuminates our existence, never failing to answer the call. Only at times does the eclipse remind us of the immense void of his absence.
The Perfumer's Words
Sun Bleached – in this extrait, the contrasts are heightened to the extreme: amber becomes smooth, while cardamom brings a sharp freshness. Vanilla intensifies, then myrrh and patchouli anchor the composition in a darker, resinous depth. Musk takes on a more ‘skin-like’ quality, revealing an almost animalistic sensuality and creating a raw, powerful tension.
Sun Bleached Extrait is a solar accord with character, a powerful and luminous trail of cleanliness.
