About Stéphane Roches
Stéphane Roches was born in France. He studied fashion design at Studio Berçot in Paris and devoted most of his career to the designer Yohji Yamamoto. He also collaborated with Carine Roitfeld on her CR Fashion Book. He currently lives in Barcelona, Spain, and works full-time as an artist and illustrator.
“Art has always been a part of my life, and as I often find myself in Paris, I have easy access to major exhibitions and art museums. My work is heavily influenced by Japanese design, as well as by artists such as Avedon, Julie Verhoeven, Madame Yevonde, Comme des Garçons, Picasso and Cindy Sherman. My art is a colourful tapestry in which defined forms and varied lines interact to keep the viewer spellbound.”
